Twelve reel-to-reel recordings of interviews, Pauli reading from her novels and memoirs, and reminiscences of this Austrian emigre who wrote popular history and children's literature. Includes interviews about emigre writers Guido Zernatto (1903-1943) and Odon von Horvath (1901-1938). The recordings are in German and English.

A native of Vienna, Pauli was an actress and writer; after working in Germany, she returned to Vienna in 1933 and headed a literary agency there. In 1938 she fled via Switzerland to France and emigrated to the U.S. in 1941, where she lived in Hollywood and later in New York. She was a friend of Alma Mahler since at least 1940, when both were in exile in France. After her arrival in the U.S., Pauli met and married E. B.
